Dubai Chamber reviews the emirates economic landscape with diplomatic corps

As part of its efforts to present its partners and members of the diplomatic corps to its future plans as well as to notify them about the financial landscape of the emirate, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry arranged Diplomatic Circle Dinner for ambassadors and members of the Arab and international diplomatic corps in the UAE at Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai on Monday.

The conference came in line with the Chamber's strategy to highlight its previous accomplishments and future directions while promoting Dubai as a favored destination for business as well as to open brand-new doors for constructive cooperation with worldwide businesses.

The dinner meeting was attended by over 140 diplomats, in the presence of Dubai Chamber Board Members led by H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman, and H.E. Hisham Al Shirawi, 2nd Vice-Chairman in addition to H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber.

On his part, H.E. Buamim highlighted Dubai Chamber's achievements in 2015 while clarifying the Chamber's approach in serving business community in the coming months. He notified that the conference came in line with the Chamber's strategy to strengthen relations with the diplomatic corps while establishing financial partnerships in between their respective countries' companies and those running in Dubai.

Pointing at the economic landscape of Dubai, H.E. Buamim mentioned that the drivers of the emirate's financial development including trade, tourism, logistics and monetary services performed incredibly well achieving exceptional development rates which reflected on Dubai's position as an appealing financial investment location and a global hub for trade and financing.

H.E. Buamim seized the day to notify about the status of the Dubai International Airport which he stated is one of the world's leading worldwide centers for traveler traffic assessing the vision of the leaders of Dubai and their commitment to developing infrastructure in line with global growth and requirements.

He added: "According to our estimates, the Dubai economy grew by 3.5 to 4 % during the year 2015 and in spite of the instability dominating in the worldwide economy, we anticipate this growth to sustain during the current year due to the farsightedness of our leaders and their focus on the path of sustainable advancement through innovation, knowledge and creativity.".

The President and CEO of Dubai Chamber also highlighted the Chamber's efforts in supporting and providing facilities to business community while releasing initiatives to promote Dubai's status of a sound financial investment destination in addition to the competitiveness of its businesses.

He also stated that the Chamber is wanting to expand into Africa, CIS and Latin America along with to concentrate on Islamic economy as the Chamber will arrange the 3rd Global Islamic Economy Summit and World Retail Congress and a series of trade missions to appealing markets of the world.
