DSFs Gold & Jewellery Mega Raffle extended to 5 February

Given the ongoing gold rush generated by the Gold & Jewellery Mega Raffle at the 20th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group has announced an extension to the regions biggest promotion of its kind, which will now run until 5 February.

The promotion was due to have concluded on 1 February but due to the huge response and high level of interest among DSF shoppers the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group has decided to extend the raffle by four more days, culminating with the promotions Mega Draw Raffle draw on 5 February.

As part of the Mega Draw, shoppers have the chance to win 40 kilos of gold, including one first prize of 20-kilo gold, a second prize of 10-kilo gold and two third prizes of 5-kilo gold. A 5-carat diamond prize and three diamond prizes of 1 carat each are also up for grabs. These prizes are in addition to the daily 1 kilo gold and 1 carat diamond and weekly prize of 5-kilo gold that the raffle has been giving away since the beginning of DSF on 1 January.

The Gold and Jewellery Mega Raffle is the biggest ever gold and jewellery promotion, offering shoppers spending AED 500 at any of the participating outlets, the chance to win up to AED 15 million in prizes including 100 kilos of gold and 40 carats of diamond across 32 days of DSF. Shoppers will be entitled to one raffle coupon upon gold purchases of AED 500 or more and will receive two raffle coupons when spending AED 500 or more on diamond jewellery.

Further, upon every AED 500 spent on the Dubai Celebration Chain, shoppers will be entitled to two raffle coupons and can therefore double their chances of winning.

Meanwhile, the sales figures at leading jewellery outlets in Dubai have been shining brighter than ever with retailers recording a significant upswing in gold and jewellery purchases during DSF 2015 compared to the same period last year.

DSF is all about winning, with 100 kilos of gold & 40 carat solitaire diamonds, jewellery customers are the real winners this DSF. Taking advantage of the trend in the variations in the gold rate and keeping in mind the huge offers, there is a huge increase in customer footfall in our stores across Dubai this year. The DSF promotion campaigns have helped to enhance the sales to a certain extent and compared to the previous year, the growth of gold and diamonds sales have gone up considerably. There is an increase of 30% sales in DSF 2015 compared to DSF 2014, said Mr. K.P Abdul Salam, Group Executive Director Malabar Gold & Diamonds.
We had a good 2014 and have planned various initiatives to grow by a minimum of 20% this year. Thanks to DSF 2015 we are seeing a good start to the year; our DSF promotion offers customers the chance to win a total of 100 kilos plus we have also helped create the 'world's longest handmade gold chain' in association with DGJG which has also received the official certification from the Guinness Book of World Records. It's a good start and we are hoping to keep the momentum going for the rest of the year. The year 2014 has been a great year for jewellery retailers. An average of 25-30% sales growth is anticipated during DSF 2015. Volatility in the price is going to be the major factor that determines the growth this year.
