DEWA Womens Committee provides lecture on cervical cancer

The Womens Committee at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has conducted an awareness lecture on uterine cervical cancer as part of its strategy to support the role of women in society at all levels. The lecture was provided in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority. The initiative also reflects the efforts of the Women's Committee to promote positive interaction between DEWAs female employees across the organisation, who represent a diversity of cultures and nationalities.

The Womens Committee at DEWA is committed to continuously engage its members on non work-related matters. We usually focus on training sessions that are designed to enhance our members engagement and achieve a positive work-life balance, said Khawla Al Mehairi, Chairperson of the Womens Committee at DEWA.

Our lectures offer participants the opportunity to benefit from medical consultation and learn about various healthcare issues. The workshop on uterine cervical cancer provided more details about the disease, its causes and treatment, and the importance of early screening for timely detection, added Al Mehairi.

The lecture witnessed a large turnout of women employees from various departments and sections of DEWA.
