The Knowledge Summit 2025 is poised to mark a new decade of global influence, reaffirming its position as a pioneering international platform that brings together thought leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore the future of the knowledge economy. Organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the two-day summit will take place on November 19 and 20, 2025, under the theme “Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities.”

The event continues to elevate Dubai’s role as a global destination for dialogue on knowledge-driven development, advancing the concept of knowledge as a transformative economic and social asset across all sectors.

Knowledge as the defining asset of the 21st century

This year’s summit underscores the shift toward knowledge as the most valuable resource of the modern world, surpassing traditional assets such as oil and gas. In today’s innovation-led economy, national wealth is increasingly measured by a country’s capacity for scientific advancement, talent development, and knowledge creation.

Amid this global transition, the summit highlights the importance of investing in people, education, digital capabilities, and scientific research as key drivers of productivity and sustainable social and economic progress.

H.E. Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at UNDP, stated:
“The Arab region stands at a pivotal moment. Productivity and competitiveness challenges are directly tied to our knowledge levels. Without a clear vision and structured knowledge markets that align supply and demand, our region will continue to face decades of low productivity.”
