CIPS celebrates Saudi National Day with expanded procurement and supply chain engagement across the Kingdom
The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) marked Saudi Arabia’s National Day by hosting a series of flagship events across the Kingdom this September, reflecting the nation’s ongoing transformation under Vision 2030 and CIPS’ commitment to advancing world-class procurement and supply chain capabilities.
Over recent weeks, CIPS strengthened its presence in Saudi Arabia through several impactful initiatives. In Jeddah, the How CIPS Can Help You Achieve Excellence in Modern Procurement event brought together senior industry professionals to explore global best practices, emerging trends, and professional pathways.
A week later in Riyadh, the Women in Procurement Leadership programme offered women professionals a tailored forum to progress toward MCIPS, the globally recognised gold standard in procurement, while connecting with peers shaping the future of the profession.
CIPS will continue its programme in the Kingdom this Saturday with an event in Dammam, providing further opportunities for professionals to engage directly with the institute and strengthen their role in supporting Vision 2030.
Growing influence in Saudi Arabia
CIPS has seen unprecedented growth in the Kingdom, with record numbers of professionals achieving Ethics certification and PEP awards. Saudi organisations have also gained international recognition; at the recent Global CIPS Awards in London, two leading Saudi companies were honoured, highlighting the Kingdom’s expanding role on the global procurement stage.
Diriyah Company, one of Saudi Arabia’s major giga-projects and a cornerstone of Vision 2030, was awarded the Procurement Excellence Standard Award for implementing efficient, sustainable, and globally benchmarked procurement practices. The certification ceremony, attended by Diriyah CEO Jerry Inzerillo and CIPS leaders, underscored procurement’s contribution to effective governance, innovation, and long-term growth.
Sam Achampong, Regional Director for CIPS across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, commented:
“Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 programme is transforming the way organisations operate, with procurement and supply at the heart of this change. Through our growing calendar of events and qualifications, CIPS is proud to support professionals in the Kingdom as they build the skills, standards, and leadership capabilities needed to drive sustainable growth and competitiveness.”
Ahsan Sarwar, General Manager of CIPS KSA, added:
“We are seeing unprecedented demand for procurement knowledge and capability across Saudi Arabia. Engagement at our recent events in Jeddah and Riyadh demonstrates how professionals are seizing opportunities to develop their careers and contribute to the Kingdom’s transformation journey. CIPS remains committed to being a long-term partner in building procurement excellence, empowering Saudi talent and supporting Vision 2030.”
With additional in-person and online programmes planned in the coming months, CIPS continues to reinforce its role as the trusted professional body for procurement in Saudi Arabia, offering globally recognised qualifications, practical learning opportunities, and access to a powerful network of peers and experts.
