Changing face of publishing in spotlight at abu dhabi international book fair

Abu Dhabi, UAE; 23 March, 2015: Regional and international leaders in digital publishing will have the opportunity to tackle and discuss some of the biggest challenges facing the future of an evolving industry in a specialist eZone at the 2015 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF). The eZone and Service Providers Area - a dedicated area for new technology, digital content and publishing services - provides space for content developers and service providers to showcase their products and services to the regional publishing community. ADIBF, celebrating its 25th Silver Jubilee edition between7-13 Mayat Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) is organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi).

Our own commitment to expanding the availability of literature though our digital activity is testament to the shifting dynamic of the publishing world, said Mohamed Al Shehhi, Director of Research & Publication at TCA Abu Dhabi. The Fairs eZone has grown in importance over recent years and will continue to be the hub for all digital media related activities, events and discussion, he added.

Expanded for 2015, the eZone will feature a larger presentation space and more varied programme of talks. The dedicated exhibition space will showcase a new selection of companies and speakers to reflect the changing face of publishing. ePublishing presentations will cover a diverse range of subjects from respected organisations including Microsoft,Leanpub and education technology by McGraw Hill Education and on MineCraftEdu by Teacher Gaming, with a good selection of regional start-ups and new ventures represented by international publishers from Italy, Iceland and New Zealand.

Other highlights include special training seminars for artists and writers using new software from Pubcoder in Italy, and a Digital Round Table industry expert discussion which will address the top issues in publishing and deliberate on how to be successful when navigating through the growing digital publishing arena.

The new eZone can be found near the Business Club area and the programme of morning and evening talks will run daily. The sessions are open to all and will be followed by a question and answer sessions. The regions fastest growing book fair, ADIBF attracted 1,125 publishing houses last year with more than 100 authors participating in its seminars and discussions. Almost 250,000 people visited ADIBF 2014 and sales grew to AED 35 million.
ADIBF was launched by the late Sheikh Zayed in 1981 under the designation of the Islamic Book Fair, which in 1986 became the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.
