Changan Automobile and Yango Group Form Strategic Alliance to Accelerate Smart Mobility Across Africa and the Middle East

In a significant step toward advancing sustainable and intelligent mobility, Changan Automobile has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Yango Group, a UAE-based global technology company. The partnership aims to strengthen smart mobility ecosystems and enhance accessibility across Africa and the Middle East (MEA).

The signing ceremony, held at Changan’s Middle East and Africa headquarters, was attended by senior leaders from both organizations, including Li Mingcai, Executive Vice President of Changan Automobile; Fu Yuanhong, Chief Representative of the Middle East and Africa Business Division; Xiao Feng, General Manager of the Business Division; and Yin Tong, Deputy General Manager of the Business Division. Representing Yango Group were Mr. Bolat, Senior Vice President of Mobility Business, and a company delegation.

Under this partnership, Yango Motors, the automotive arm of Yango Group focused on expanding vehicle accessibility, will serve as the official distributor of Changan vehicles, beginning in Côte d’Ivoire with future expansion planned across multiple African markets. The collaboration seeks to deliver durable, high-performance vehicles tailored to the needs of ride-hailing and fleet operators, supporting both consumer mobility and sustainable economic growth.

“Our partnership with Yango Group is part of Changan’s long-term strategy to empower global partners and drive intelligent mobility across emerging markets,” said Xiao Feng, General Manager of Changan’s Middle East and Africa Business Division. “By combining Changan’s cutting-edge automotive technology with Yango’s extensive mobility network, we aim to provide smarter, safer, and more efficient travel solutions for users throughout the region.”

The agreement highlights Yango Group’s continued investment in building advanced mobility ecosystems across the MEA region. Through partnerships with leading automotive manufacturers, Yango seeks to enhance fleet sustainability, service efficiency, and ride quality, supporting the transition to eco-friendly transport models.

Yango Ride, a major ride-hailing platform under Yango Group, currently operates across Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Latin America, facilitating over 1.2 billion trips globally with a network of 2.1 million registered drivers.

This partnership represents a strategic evolution from single-model procurement to multi-model integration and co-branded development, enhancing cooperation between the automotive and technology sectors. Both companies aim to expand into new markets within the MEA region, introducing smart mobility solutions that promote environmental sustainability, innovation, and user experience.

The collaboration underscores how Chinese automotive leaders like Changan are deepening their engagement in Africa and the Middle East—driving growth, innovation, and technological advancement while creating long-term value through cross-border partnerships.
