Azizi Developments’ Chairman Mirwais Azizi Donates AED 3 Billion to Fathers’ Endowment Campaign

Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, has pledged AED 3 billion to the Fathers’ Endowment campaign, an initiative led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI). The donation stands as the largest private charitable contribution in UAE history and will be used to establish a state-of-the-art Health District in Dubai, including a hospital, a medical research center, and a physician training facility.

A Tribute to Dubai’s Vision and Leadership

Reflecting on his journey in Dubai, Mirwais Azizi expressed deep gratitude for the opportunities and security the city has provided him and his family.

"Dubai has given me everything—from a thriving business environment to a safe and nurturing home for my children. My gratitude extends to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose vision has made Dubai a global beacon of prosperity," he stated.

Azizi also shared the personal inspiration behind his philanthropy, revealing that his daughter Farishta Azizi’s battle with cancer and her passing in 2024 rekindled his passion for charitable work.

Transforming Healthcare Through the Fathers’ Endowment Initiative

The AED 3 billion donation will be dedicated to:

• Establishing a Health District in Dubai, including an advanced hospital and medical research center.
• Creating a physician training facility to foster medical expertise.
• Developing long-term endowed buildings to provide sustainable healthcare solutions for underprivileged communities.

The Fathers’ Endowment campaign builds on the success of the Mother’s Endowment initiative, to which Azizi Developments previously donated AED 600 million in 2024 for educational development.

Global Philanthropic Commitments

Beyond the UAE, Azizi Developments has pledged USD 500 million for the construction of the Farishta Azizi Medical City in Kabul, Afghanistan, a non-profit medical complex that will include:

• A 400-bed cancer treatment center
• A 200-bed maternity and gynecology hospital
• An orphanage for up to 10,000 children
• A medical university and nursing school

Ongoing CSR and Humanitarian Efforts

Azizi Developments has long been a key contributor to philanthropy and social initiatives, including:

• AED 10 million to the Al Jalila Foundation
• Support for the Dubai Autism Center and Rashid Centre for the Determined Ones
• AED 100 million donation to the 1 Billion Meals Initiative to combat global hunger
• Sponsorship of the Dubai World Cup for eight years
