Arab Award Forum Wraps Up 5th Edition, Highlights Role of Prizes in Fostering Excellence and Creativity
The fifth edition of the Arab Award Forum concluded in Dubai after two days of engaging discussions and knowledge exchange aimed at promoting innovation, creativity, and collaboration among Arab awards.
Hosted by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award (MBRKA) — an initiative of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) — the forum brought together representatives from 35 of the Arab world’s leading awards, alongside prominent thought leaders, scientists, and knowledge experts. The event reaffirmed MBRF’s commitment to advancing intellectual and creative excellence across the region.
Strengthening Collaboration Among Arab Awards
Held at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library (MBRL), the forum’s fifth General Assembly meeting reviewed new members who joined the initiative and explored the Arab Awards Platform, recently launched by the Arab Thought Foundation (ATF). The session also discussed upcoming activities and showcased the official website of the forum along with the online platforms of participating awards.
A key highlight of the assembly was the presentation of a comprehensive study titled “The State of Arab Awards”, led by Dr. Ashraf Al-Izzazi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt. The study provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of Arab awards and their role in promoting cultural and intellectual development.
Encouraging Knowledge Sharing and Institutional Excellence
Participants also toured the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, exploring its vast collections of books and historical manuscripts that document the evolution of human knowledge. An orientation workshop introduced attendees to the Integrated ISO Guide for Quality Management Systems in Knowledge, Innovation, and Artificial Intelligence, a strategic initiative led by MBRF to enhance quality and innovation management in the knowledge sector.
Honoring Arab Institutions of Excellence
During the closing ceremony, several government institutions and organizations were honored for their outstanding contributions to supporting Arab awards and fostering a culture of excellence. Honorees included the Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, the Greater Amman Municipality, and the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award was also recognized for successfully hosting and organizing this year’s forum.
Charting the Future of the Arab Knowledge Ecosystem
As the forum concluded, members commended MBRF’s leadership in strengthening the Arab knowledge ecosystem. They emphasized the forum’s role as a vital platform for sharing expertise, promoting creativity, and fostering coordination among Arab award institutions. Participants also underscored the importance of continued collaboration with the Arab Thought Foundation to stay aligned with emerging regional and global developments.
The General Assembly approved the agenda for future initiatives, which includes cultural courses, specialized seminars, and expanded knowledge exchange programs. Members also agreed to hold the sixth edition of the Arab Award Forum in October 2027, marking another milestone in the forum’s ongoing journey to celebrate excellence and innovation across the Arab world.
