Ajman launches first edition of ‘Masfout X’ race to mark UAE’s 54th National Day

The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media has announced the launch of the inaugural ‘Masfout X’ Race, an endurance and adventure sporting event set in the scenic mountains of Masfout. The event forms part of Ajman’s celebrations marking the UAE’s 54th National Day.

The announcement was made during a press conference held on November 18 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ajman, attended by Jawaher Al Matroushi, Head of Support Services Department, alongside senior officials, strategic partners, sponsors, and members of the media.

The introduction of Masfout X builds on Masfout’s recent global recognition as the ‘Best Tourism Village in the World 2025’ by UN Tourism. It also supports the Emirates Council for Balanced Development’s ‘Emirates Villages’ initiative, which aims to transform rural and mountainous areas into sustainable tourism and lifestyle destinations that reflect the UAE’s authentic identity. The event aligns with national efforts to grow both rural and sports tourism, enhancing the country’s global tourism profile.

A multisport challenge in Ajman’s mountain landscapes

Scheduled for December 2, 2025, the Masfout X Race will consist of three main stages: mountain trail running, mountain biking, and an endurance run. Additional activities, including a mountain kayaking challenge, will also be organised to offer an immersive experience for athletes and spectators alike.

Designed to test physical strength and stamina, the race is expected to attract elite competitors, amateur athletes, and adventure enthusiasts from across the UAE.

Speakers emphasised that the first edition of Masfout X reflects Ajman’s commitment to national initiatives that integrate sports, tourism, and community participation. They highlighted the event’s role in positioning Ajman as a leading destination for adventure and sports tourism within the UAE and the wider region.

Officials also acknowledged the significant support of strategic partners and sponsors, in particular Etihad Water and Electricity, the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, the UAE Triathlon Federation, and Endurance Sports Services.

The conference concluded with an open invitation to the public and media to attend and cover the upcoming challenge, expected to become a distinguished addition to the UAE’s national events calendar and a celebration of unity and resilience.
