The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media (ADTCM) organised a community sports event titled “Running for the Love of Kuwait” to mark the longstanding fraternal ties between the UAE and Kuwait, drawing more than 500 participants to Al Safa Park in Ajman.

Held on February 1, 2026, the event was conducted in collaboration with the Government of Ajman Media Office and Endurance Sports Services, and sponsored by Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE). The run brought together participants of different ages and fitness levels, including families, children, amateur runners, and sports enthusiasts.

The initiative forms part of the “UAE and Kuwait…Brothers Forever” campaign, launched in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to highlight the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations and promote values of unity, affection, and cohesion.

ADTCM said the event aimed to strengthen community bonds and underline the role of sports in connecting people and fostering social engagement through inclusive activities.

H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of ADTCM, said the event reflects the department’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that celebrate Gulf cooperation and reinforce historic UAE–Kuwait relations. He added that such programmes also align with Ajman’s broader goals of encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle across the community.

Officials noted that the strong turnout demonstrated Ajman’s capacity to host diverse community-focused sporting and cultural events, offering residents and visitors opportunities to participate in activities that promote social involvement and national belonging.

The run is part of a broader calendar of cultural, social, and sports initiatives organised by ADTCM to honour UAE–Kuwait ties while also supporting Ajman’s positioning as a leading tourism and community destination in the UAE.
