AHOY Appoints Kamil Hilali as Independent Director

AHOY, a group developing a deployed Sovereign Physical AI platform, has appointed Kamil Hilali to its Board of Directors as an Independent Director.

Hilali is Group CEO of TASC Towers Holding, an independent digital infrastructure platform operating across the Middle East and North Africa. His appointment comes as AHOY enters a new phase of expansion across Physical AI, Sovereign AI and what the company describes as the emerging MENA Third Pole.

Hilali brings digital infrastructure experience

Before joining TASC Towers Holding, Hilali served as Group Chief Strategy Officer of Zain Group, where he led the development and execution of the company's 4Sight and 4WARD strategies.

During his tenure, he was involved in Zain's transformation from a mobile operator into a diversified digital and infrastructure technology company, including landmark mergers and acquisitions, capital restructurings, initial public offerings and tower divestments.

Hilali also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Zain KSA.

He began his career in asset management at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York before moving into private equity at the KIPCO-affiliated North Africa Holding Company.

AHOY enters next phase of growth

According to AHOY, Hilali joins the board at a pivotal stage as the company moves from category creation towards category leadership across Physical AI and Sovereign AI.

The company is simultaneously pursuing a strategic capital raise, sovereign-grade deployments and international expansion.

AHOY said Hilali's experience in large-scale infrastructure operations, cross-border M&A and MENA capital markets will support the group as it expands its platform and deployment footprint.

Founder welcomes board appointment

Jamil Shinawi, Founder and CEO of AHOY, said Hilali's experience would strengthen the company's board as it scales its Sovereign Physical AI platform.

“Kamil is the right director at the right time,” Shinawi said. “He brings infrastructure operating rigor, strategic clarity, and global capital markets fluency, built over two decades of transforming digital infrastructure businesses.”

He added that Hilali's experience would support AHOY's ambition to scale Sovereign Physical AI from the region to international markets.

Hilali joins board with immediate effect

Hilali holds an MBA from Suffolk University and a Master's in Finance from London Business School. He has also completed the Venture Capital Unlocked programme at Stanford University.

His appointment is effective immediately, with statutory director filings underway.
