ADCMC Launches Annual Forum with Focus on Business Continuity and Alternative National Service

The Abu Dhabi Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre (ADCMC) inaugurated its annual ‘Business Continuity and Alternative National Service - Murona’ Forum, aimed at enhancing crisis preparedness and service continuity across vital sectors. Held over two days, the Forum brings together top government officials and sector leaders to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s emergency response framework.

A key highlight of the Forum's opening day was the launch of the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Business Continuity Standard, developed in collaboration with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi. This pioneering initiative marks the world’s first healthcare-focused continuity standard and sets the foundation for a series of guidelines to bolster critical services in the Emirate. The new standard is designed to strengthen the resilience and operational readiness of the healthcare sector during emergencies.

In addition, the Forum celebrated the graduation of 129 recruits from three cohorts of the Alternative National Service Program. The event also recognized the contributions of 21 local organizations that successfully activated the Murona program and honored 10 entities for fulfilling the requirements of the National Business Continuity Standard.

The Forum serves as a strategic platform for exchanging knowledge and best practices in business continuity management. Experts from various fields shared insights and experiences on safeguarding operations during crises.

H.E. Matar Al Nuaimi, Director-General of ADCMC, emphasized the Forum's alignment with national objectives and its role in fostering collaboration across sectors. “The launch of the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Business Continuity Standard marks a critical milestone in fortifying our healthcare system’s resilience. Through consistent innovation and collaboration, we are laying the groundwork for a more secure and sustainable future,” he said.

H.E. Al Nuaimi also highlighted the Centre’s role in supporting entities through audits and training under the National Business Continuity Management Standard (NCEMA7000:2021), ensuring compliance and resilience across critical functions.

The ADCMC remains the leading accreditation authority for business continuity in Abu Dhabi. It plays a pivotal role in deploying national service recruits to participating organizations and ensuring their involvement in continuous development programs and emergency preparedness exercises.
