UAE-based pharmaceutical manufacturer ADCAN Pharma has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Indian pharmaceutical company Pinnacle Life Science Private Limited to facilitate the local manufacturing of critical oncology medicines in the UAE.
The agreement covers the licensing of 12 oncology products, followed by a phased technology transfer programme to enable local production. The partnership is aimed at strengthening the UAE’s capabilities in specialised pharmaceutical manufacturing while improving the availability and supply-chain resilience of critical cancer treatments.
Pinnacle Life Science is a major Indian pharmaceutical manufacturer and a wholly owned subsidiary of Aarti Drugs Limited.
Partnership to Expand UAE Oncology Manufacturing
The agreement was signed at ADCAN Pharma’s manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi in the presence of ADCAN Pharma Chairman Hamdan Aldahmani, CEO Fokion Sinis, Pinnacle Life Science CEO Vishwa Savla, and representatives from the Emirates Drug Establishment and the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.
ADCAN Pharma said the partnership reflects its commitment to pharmaceutical localisation and healthcare security in the UAE.
The collaboration is also expected to strengthen ADCAN Pharma’s first-mover advantage by supporting Day-1 launches of selected generic oncology products following their loss-of-exclusivity (LOE) dates.
Technology Transfer to Support Local Production
Under the initial phase of the agreement, ADCAN Pharma and Pinnacle Life Science will jointly launch 12 oncology products in the UAE. The companies will subsequently undertake a structured technology transfer programme to establish local manufacturing capabilities.
Pinnacle Life Science will contribute its integrated API-to-finished-dose manufacturing platform and expertise developed under US FDA-approved manufacturing standards, while ADCAN will bring its regional market knowledge and commercial capabilities.
ADCAN Pharma CEO Fokion Sinis said the partnership will broaden the company’s oncology portfolio while creating a framework for advanced technology transfer and strengthening access to complex, life-saving cancer therapies.
He added that the collaboration could contribute to a more integrated and sustainable healthcare ecosystem by improving patient access to critical oncology treatments and supporting higher standards of cancer care across the region.
Focus on Supply Chain Resilience and Healthcare Security
The partnership is expected to improve the reliability and resilience of the UAE’s pharmaceutical supply chain by increasing domestic manufacturing of essential oncology products.
ADCAN Pharma Chairman Hamdan Aldahmani said the agreement demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to pharmaceutical localisation and healthcare security, while supporting the development of patient-centric critical care capabilities within the UAE.
The collaboration also aligns with national initiatives, including the National Drug Policy and Operation 300bn, which seek to strengthen domestic industrial capabilities and promote greater self-sufficiency in strategic sectors, including pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Pinnacle to Bring Automotive-Scale Manufacturing Expertise to Oncology
Pinnacle Life Science, the primary formulations arm of Aarti Drugs, brings technical and manufacturing expertise to the partnership while providing access to its parent company’s active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing capabilities.
Vishwa Savla, CEO of Pinnacle Life Science, said the partnership reflects a shared objective of making high-quality and affordable oncology therapies more accessible to patients in the UAE and wider Middle East.
The company will combine its manufacturing platform with ADCAN Pharma’s regional expertise as the two companies work towards establishing local production and transferring advanced manufacturing technologies.
ADCAN Pharma’s Manufacturing Capacity
The partnership builds on ADCAN Pharma’s existing manufacturing capabilities in the UAE. The company operates three manufacturing facilities with an annual production capacity of 500 million tablets and 80 million capsules.
By combining these capabilities with Pinnacle Life Science’s pharmaceutical expertise and technology platform, the partnership is expected to contribute to the development of a stronger ecosystem for complex and specialised drug manufacturing in the UAE.
The collaboration represents a further step towards pharmaceutical localisation, technology transfer and improved access to critical therapies, while supporting the UAE’s broader ambitions to develop a more resilient and self-sufficient healthcare ecosystem.
