Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) celebrates Bait Al Oud seventh anniversary in Abu Dhabi

As a celebration of the seventh anniversary since the founding of Bait Al Oud in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi-based music institution dedicated to the teaching and learning of the traditional Oud instrument, will be organising a concert to be held this week as part of the TCA music programme.

Distinguished Oud instructors and graduates from Bait Al Oud will perform a concert titled Harmony: the 7th Anniversary of Bait Al Oud at Abu Dhabi Theater on Corniche breakwater in the capital on Wednesday 25th February.

The concert, presented by TCA Abu Dhabi features five distinguished music instructors: Bassam Abdel Sattar, Sherin Tehami, Ahmad Fatallah, Faisal Al Sari and Samer Abu Reslan, under the supervision of renowned musician Naseer Shamma.

The programme will not only include Arabic, but also famous European compositions, and offer another beautiful example of how enriching musical dialogues can be.

The first part of the programme will celebrate the history of Oriental music with instruments and vocals merging songs and instrumentals from the Emirates, Sudan, Egypt and Palestine. The second part of the evening will involve European classical compositions played on the Kanun, to help express music as an international language.

Bait Al Oud was established by TCA Abu Dhabi in 2008 as an authentic Arabic music institution. The institution aims to preserve Arabic music by teaching new generations to play music on ancient instruments such as oud and qanoun.

Wednesday evenings concert is free and begins at 8pm
