UAE named best in Arab world for road quality, ranked fourth globally

The United Arab Emirates has achieved another global milestone, ranking first in the Arab world and the wider region, and fourth worldwide, for road quality in 2025, according to an international ranking published by Daily Jang.

The report places the UAE among a select group of countries recognized for developing safe, advanced, and efficiently managed road networks, driven by strong engineering standards, cutting-edge technologies, and strategic long-term planning.

Sustained investment in world-class infrastructure

The UAE’s high ranking reflects years of consistent investment in transport infrastructure and the adoption of smart mobility systems that enhance traffic safety, reduce congestion, and optimize travel times. The country’s Roads and Transport Authorities continue to deploy intelligent solutions for monitoring, traffic management, and road maintenance, ensuring international standards of safety and reliability.

Experts attribute this success to the UAE’s integrated transport vision, which combines urban development, sustainability, and digital innovation. The country’s road network serves as a model for regional and global benchmarks in design and functionality.

Asia leads global road quality rankings

The 2025 ranking saw Singapore retain the top global position, lauded for its well-maintained roads, intelligent traffic management, and strict enforcement of road safety regulations.

Hong Kong followed in second place, recognized for its modern tunnels, bridges, and urban traffic solutions, while Japan ranked third, commended for its engineering precision, durability, and advanced tolling and safety systems.

Beyond the top three, the UAE joined South Korea, Oman, Taiwan, and Qatar in the world’s top eight countries for superior road quality, reaffirming the Middle East’s growing prominence in infrastructure excellence.

This international recognition underscores the UAE’s continued leadership in transport innovation and infrastructure development, aligning with the nation’s vision for a safe, smart, and sustainable future in mobility.
