RTA unveils new metro route to alleviate peak hours congestion on Red Line
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new metro route on the Red Line, designed to ease rush-hour congestion and improve passenger flow. A key beneficiary of this update is Al Fardan Exchange Metro Station, which is now integrated into the revised routing system, strengthening its role as a vital transit hub.
Under the new arrangement, trains will operate directly from Centrepoint Station all the way to Expo City Dubai and to UAE Exchange, without the need for a transfer at Jebel Ali. This streamlining is expected to significantly reduce passenger crowding and shorten overall travel times. For thousands of daily commuters, the ability to reach Al Fardan Exchange Station more efficiently is a major improvement.
Given its strategic location, Al Fardan Exchange Station connects residential, commercial, and business districts, making it a heavily frequented stop. The RTA’s decision to highlight it within the updated route reflects both commuter demand and the station’s growing importance in Dubai’s urban mobility network.
To ensure smooth journeys, passengers are encouraged to check digital displays at stations for train destinations, whether bound for Expo City or UAE Exchange. By anchoring this new direct route around high traffic stations such as Al Fardan Exchange, the RTA continues to enhance accessibility, reliability, and comfort across Dubai’s expanding metro system.
