Eid Al Adha 2025: Festive Spirit Sweeps Across the UAE
As the UAE prepares to mark Eid Al Adha on Friday, the spirit of celebration is sweeping across the nation. From city streets bathed in festive lights to bustling markets and family preparations, the country is gearing up for one of the most significant holidays in the Islamic calendar.
Major landmarks and neighbourhoods in cities such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah are adorned with colourful decorations and illuminated displays, symbolising the joy, generosity, and unity that define the occasion.
Households across the Emirates are actively engaged in festival preparations—purchasing livestock for the traditional sacrifice, shopping for new clothes, and stocking up on groceries for festive feasts. The atmosphere is one of excitement and togetherness, as families and communities come together to honour the values of compassion, charity, and faith.
Adding to the festive ambiance, Dubai Police have confirmed that traditional Eid cannons will be fired at six designated locations across the emirate, maintaining a time-honoured tradition that heralds the arrival of Eid.
This year, Eid Al Adha celebrations coincide with the UAE's “Year of Community” initiative, further amplifying the themes of solidarity and shared values among residents and citizens.
From bright streets and community gatherings to heritage traditions and family bonding, the Eid Al Adha celebrations in the UAE are a vibrant blend of cultural pride and heartfelt devotion.
