Telecommunications Regulatory Authority organizes cultural talk on tolerance at The Cultural & Scientific Association Dubai

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is arranging an evening of intellectual discussions on Wednesday (June 15, 2016) at The Cultural & Scientific Association Dubai with Dr. Yousef Al Hassan, author of the book titled 'Identity, Tolerance and a Culture of Dialogue's Questions.' The event intends to promote a culture of reading within the TRA in support of the declaration of 2016 as the 'Year of Reading' by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and following the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to raise a generation of readers amongst UAE Nationals, make reading as a social practice and establish the nation as a capital known for content, knowledge, and culture.

The events inaugural theme is timely given the UAE Cabinet's current approval of the National Tolerance Programme based upon seven essential pillars: Islam, the UAE Constitution, the Nation's Founding Father H.H. Sheikh Zayed's legacy and ethics, international conventions, history, humanity and common values

The TRA invites interested people to join the dialogue which will start at 9pm and last until 11pm and will be extended accordingly to accommodate audience interest. Well-known scholastic personalities in the UAE along with TRA workers are anticipated to get involved. Dr. Al Hassan will present the highlights of his book, with an open forum to follow.
