Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University Honors Winners of Reading Knights Competition

UAE, November 28, 2016-- The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart Univerciy (HBMSU) recognized the champions of its Smart Book Club's 'Reading Knights Competition' throughout a special ceremony held at its university in Dubai Academic City went to by leading management, deans and directors.

The 'Reading Knights Competition' invited interested participants to send Arabic or English reviews of not greater than 1,000 words in Arabic & English on 'My Vision' and 'Flashes of Thought' authored by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai included books posted on the Smart Book Club's online portal. The competitors sought to heighten recognition on the importance of analysis, establish the behavior of self-learning and continuous knowing, boost analytical and critical thinking, and urge knowledge sharing among viewers of different cultural and cognitive backgrounds.

The winner under the Arabic Group consisted of Alia Khaled Mutref (UAE) with an average score of 84.3, Eid Awad Aljohani (Saudi Arabia) with 83 and Mohammed Barbari Abdullah (Egypt) with 81.3, while winners under the English Classification were Shabbir Bandukwala (India) with 83, Abdulbasit Qureshi (US) with 79.5 and Rosy George (India) with 78.5. All winners received prize money and a complimentary 1 year access to the HBMSU Smart Library.

Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, HBMSU Chancellor, claimed: "The Smart Publication Club launched the 'Reading Knights Competitors' in honor of the pronouncement of 2016 as the 'Year of Reading' by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. We were pleasantly surprised by the positive feedback of our learners who eagerly submitted their entrances and made us pleased with the excellent quality of their work. We congratulate the winners and encourage them to proceed being young ambassadors of reading. The University will certainly continue to present and support similar initiatives that emphasize the importance of checking out to national advancement and cultural identification."
