DEWA supports 4th Ramadan Aman road safety campaign

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) staff are working with the Al Ihsan Charity Association for the 4th Ramadan Aman safety campaign under the theme Together during Ramadan without accidents. This supports directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to mark 19 Ramadan as Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
As part of the initiative, DEWA staff are distributing Iftar meals to drivers on the roads and at traffic intersections before Maghrib prayers during Ramadan. The initiative is held in collaboration with police departments from different Emirates. It highlights the noble values of the late Sheikh Zayed, especially in promoting humanitarian activities that are close to Emirati culture.

The campaign aims to promote the security of people who are fasting during Ramadan, especially as they drive their cars before Iftar, as well as highlighting the message of motor vehicle safety by discouraging high speed driving before Iftar, which helps reduce traffic accidents.
DEWAs support for the campaign is based on its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its commitment to sponsor and support charitable projects and encourage drivers to adhere to traffic laws. It also encourages individuals and organisations to promote community service and enable all members of society to participate in volunteer work.

DEWAs sponsorship of the campaign reflects its commitment to join hands with the concerted efforts of various stakeholders to promote the welfare of the community. DEWA works in accordance with an integrated strategy that includes organising and sponsoring social activities all year round. It works to develop and improve its CSR plans to contribute to developing society by adopting a number of activities and programmes that instil human values, promote National Identity and, enhance the sustainable development of Dubai and the UAE.
