Art of Comics workshop to inspire young talents at Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children

The Art of Comics series of workshops was introduced within the facilities of Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children on the 24th of April, and will be hosted until the 28th of April. The workshop theme will be influenced around popular stories from science fiction and will include 15 Emirati artists and residents from the Arab area. Famous German cartoonist Inga Steinmetz will be leading the workshop series.

As part of its yearly activities to assist in the development of creative skills in the nation, the Art of Comics workshop is being arranged by the UAE Board on Books for Young People and the Goethe-Institute German Language Centre in the Gulf region in partnership with Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children. The joint effort is more reinforced by the strategic alliance of "Culture Without Borders". All collaborators are dedicated to constructing the foundation and capability of the youth in artistic and imaginative fields under the supervision of going to international specialists.

Among the many benefits of the Cartoon workshop, individuals will discover the art of storytelling with characters, key elements of production and development, most current innovations available to specialists of this art and useful suggestions for success. Another highlight of the workshop are the technical sessions where individuals will be motivated to discuss various comic types, example Manga. The task will culminate with presentation of concepts at the workshop gallery, further to impressions for the 'Books-- Manufactured in the UAE' project.
