Special Olympics athletes from Saudi Arabia made their country proud on day three of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, winning a phenomenal four gold medals as well as one silver and three bronzes. Saudi Arabia’s total medal count at the end of day three was 18. Gold medals were won by Rayid Aloufi in bocce; Fares Almateq in table tennis; Heba Shawli and Mohammed AlRefai in athletics.
The team’s silver medal was won by Hissah AlQuruni in bowling, and bronzes were received by Khaled Alrowaile in bocce; Faya Almubarrizi in bowling, and Bashayr Sawwaf in athletics. In basketball, the women’s unified team continued their undefeated streak with two wins 19-11 against Code D’Ivoire, and 16-10 against Kuwait.
