Saudi Arabia Special Olympics athletes won three gold medals, one silver, and two bronzes on Saturday, March 16th. Three golds were won by powerlifter Hassan Alhadhariti, 23, who also won silver. “Powerlifting has taught me a lot about discipline and control,” said Hassan Alhadhariti. “Now, winning these medals for the Kingdom has made me feel very proud.”
His Saudi Arabian teammate, Nasser Aldawsari, 22, won bronze in powerlifting. Ali Alqahtani, 30, achieved a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle swimming event. Saudi Arabia’s men’s unified basketball team earned a well-fought 31-13 victory against Finland.
