Western Region Municipality upgrades to Windows 10 Enterprise to boost services.

The Western Region Municipality (WRM) of UAE has become one of the first organizations in UAE to adopt Windows 10, the latest operating system by Microsoft. WRM will upgrade its entire computing infrastructure from Windows 7 and Windows 8 to Windows 10 Enterprise in a move that will help to enhance the productivity of its entire staff and hasten services.

WRM will leverage the new mobility features of Windows 10 to streamline collaboration between staff and enable instant data access in a way that will guarantee effective delivery of public services to citizens and residents. WRM has been exploring options for a comprehensive solution that would address its mobile computing needs to help it align with the UAE government strategy towards intelligent mobile services and smart government.
With Windows 10, WRM staff will be able to access their official data across devices on a single OS which can run on tablets, smartphones, and PCs. People can also interact with a Windows 10 device with a mouse and keyboard, touch, pen and ink or voice.

WRM was impressed by the innovative features of Windows 10 Enterprise following the civic bodys satisfying experience with the Windows 10 Technical Preview over the past months. WRM has been part of the Windows 10 Insiders Program and hopes to leverage Windows 10 Enterprise features to streamline services with enhanced mobility and collaboration between staff since the new OS requires little or no training for an upgrade from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.

At the same time, they will be able to choose the pace at which they adopt new technology, including the option to use the new Windows Update for Business.
