UAE and Georgia explore investment opportunities in tourism, sustainability and logistics

The UAE and Georgia are exploring opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation and expand investment partnerships across tourism, hospitality, the circular economy, food security, sustainable development and logistics.

The discussions took place during a meeting between H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, and H.E. Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism headquarters in Dubai.

The two sides reviewed ways to increase investment flows, develop joint projects, strengthen private-sector engagement and exchange information on opportunities in emerging economic sectors.

UAE and Georgia seek to expand economic partnerships

During the meeting, Bin Touq highlighted the UAE’s efforts to strengthen its position as a global economic partner through the development of its legislative and institutional frameworks, expansion of international partnerships and creation of a competitive business environment.

He said the UAE aims to advance its economic relations with Georgia by broadening investment opportunities, diversifying cooperation across priority sectors and developing joint projects that generate value for both economies.

The discussions also covered cooperation in infrastructure and services, with a focus on using technology and innovation to support economic activity, improve productivity and develop projects aligned with the priorities of both countries.

Tourism and hospitality offer scope for investment

Tourism and hospitality emerged as key areas for potential cooperation, with both sides discussing opportunities to expand investment, develop tourism and hotel projects, and exchange expertise in destination management.

The countries also considered ways to strengthen partnerships between institutions and companies operating in the sector and improve the attractiveness of their destinations to international visitors.

Tourism links between the UAE and Georgia provide a foundation for further collaboration. Approximately 33,600 Georgian visitors travelled to the UAE in 2025, while the two countries had a combined total of 41 direct flights per week, according to the press release.

The ministers discussed how these connections could support greater visitor exchanges and encourage investment in tourism infrastructure and hospitality projects.

Circular economy and sustainable development

The meeting also examined opportunities to develop cooperation in circular economy solutions, including improving resource efficiency, increasing recycling and encouraging more sustainable production and consumption practices.

Both sides discussed the potential for partnerships involving businesses and other stakeholders to support innovation, knowledge exchange and the adoption of circular economic models.

The discussions reflect a shared interest in exploring approaches that make more efficient use of resources while creating opportunities for investment and sustainable business development.

Food security and supply chain cooperation

Food security was another focus of the talks. The ministers explored opportunities to diversify food supply sources, develop supply chains and use modern technologies in agriculture and food production.

Such cooperation could help strengthen the resilience and sustainability of food systems as countries respond to changes in global markets and supply networks.

The two sides also considered the role of infrastructure, technology and innovation in improving economic productivity and supporting the development of new projects.

Logistics links to support regional trade

The UAE and Georgia also discussed expanding cooperation in logistics by leveraging their strategic geographic locations and improving supply chain efficiency.

The proposed areas of collaboration could create opportunities for companies in both countries to broaden their market presence and strengthen connections with regional and international markets.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to identify new areas of economic cooperation between the UAE and Georgia, with tourism, sustainability, food security and logistics among the sectors under discussion.
