Trojan Construction Holding and Khalifa University of Science and Technology have signed a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening talent development, career readiness and collaboration between academia and the construction industry.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Professor Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University of Science and Technology, and Eng. Ahmad Al Shamsi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Trojan Construction Holding.
Under the MoU, the two organisations will explore opportunities to give students and recent graduates greater exposure to professional environments and potential recruitment pathways. The collaboration will also look at internship and industrial training opportunities, subject to availability and Trojan Construction Holding's internal requirements.
Supporting career readiness and knowledge exchange
The partnership will focus on helping students understand industry expectations and develop the skills required for successful careers in construction and related sectors.
Trojan Construction Holding and Khalifa University will also explore joint workshops, short courses, technical sessions, guest lectures and other learning initiatives for students, graduates and employees, based on areas of mutual interest.
Professor Ebrahim Al Hajri said strong industry partnerships are important for translating education and research into capabilities that support the UAE's future. He added that the collaboration will provide students and graduates with greater exposure to changing industry requirements while encouraging knowledge and expertise exchange.
Strengthening national talent
Eng. Ahmad Al Shamsi said talent development is a key element of long-term growth in the construction industry. He noted that the partnership will create opportunities for closer engagement between academia and the sector while giving students and graduates a clearer understanding of professional environments.
He added that stronger alignment between education and industry is important for developing national talent, supporting Emiratisation and building a skilled workforce capable of meeting the future requirements of the UAE's construction and infrastructure sectors.
Focus on UAE's future workforce
The MoU reflects the shared objective of both organisations to strengthen academia-industry engagement, promote workforce development and create additional opportunities for knowledge exchange.
The partnership is also expected to contribute to the development of national capabilities and support the UAE's broader economic and human capital development goals, particularly as demand grows for skilled professionals across construction and infrastructure.
