The sensible and significant issues of the global maritime sector gets gear up by the IMO Ambassadors Meeting

The recent IMO Ambassadors meeting aimed at discussing the most timely and significant problems influencing the worldwide maritime industry, alongside the World Maritime Day. In this session, every Goodwill Ambassadors significant position of the IMO, and its duties, and the need to raise awareness of the marine sector and its associated jobs is also addressed. This event also discussed the importance of encouraging young individuals to become part of the maritime industry and attempts to help the public reach a broader audience was also discussed-a greater understanding of the benefits and advantages of working in the maritime sector and the need to inspire a whole new generation of marine experts.

The meeting was attended by IMO ambassadors of the Federal Transport Authority, Ministers and delegates from several Member Countries, including Dr. Aisha Al Busmait, Director of Government Communications at the Federal Transport Authority - Land & Maritime, who lately was appointed as IMO Goodwill Ambassador during the World Maritime Day Parallel event in Colombia, last September.

The meeting focused on the significant role played by maritime goodwill ambassadors in helping the worldwide marine industry to improve and sustainably, including the move to strengthen the leadership position of this essential industry. The event addressed the increasing role and role played by females in the maritime industry.

In particular in the effort to raise awareness among young individuals regarding the significance and necessity of the maritime industry, either through academic studies or work in maritime professions, Al Busmait explains the significance of the role and accountability given to IMO Goodwill ambassadors. Al Busmait said, "The conference served as a timely and strategic platform to discuss the most significant problems faced by the worldwide sea industry and how we can concentrate our efforts as ambassadors of goodwill in the promotion and maintenance of this industry.

At the conference, participants stressed the need to devise essential guidelines and mechanisms to create a comprehensive roadmap detailing the role of ambassadors, highlighting the need to disseminate the core messages of the IMO, including the development of effective communication plans and the preparation of messages of propaganda, launch of socially dependable initiatives, holding workshops and classes, cooperating with the concerned experts in the maritime sector and the improvement of PR plans for maritime media.

The IMO is an international maritime sector organization, which aims to enhance its public understanding and the significant role of the industry in the world economy. The organizations task is also to contribute to the improvement of sea safety, the global shipping industry and to combat ship pollution. The IMO is doing this through the surveillance and development of an extensive system of maritime sector conventions and policies and other operations like maritime safety, maritime security, and technical collaboration, environmental and legislative concerns.
