Q Mobility, the operator of public parking services in Abu Dhabi, and Parkin Company PJSC, a major provider of public parking facilities and services in Dubai, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation on smart parking solutions and digital integration between the two emirates.

The agreement aims to support smarter urban mobility, improve parking services and contribute to the UAE's wider efforts to develop more connected and sustainable cities.

The partnership brings together the public parking operators of Abu Dhabi and Dubai to explore opportunities for sharing expertise, adopting international best practices and developing technology-driven solutions for parking management.

Under the MoU, Q Mobility and Parkin will develop a roadmap for joint initiatives and examine potential pilot projects involving advanced parking technologies.

The companies will explore the use of artificial intelligence, data analytics and digital solutions to improve parking occupancy management, forecast demand and increase operational efficiency and service quality.

Digital integration and customer services

The two organisations also plan to explore the integration of their digital platforms and systems to provide customers and visitors with a more seamless parking experience.

The proposed integration could enable users to access parking services and make payments through connected digital channels, potentially simplifying the process for motorists travelling between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The companies will also assess opportunities to exchange data and technical expertise while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and data-protection requirements.

Other areas of cooperation will include the development of innovative parking management solutions, stronger governance practices, more efficient use of parking infrastructure and measures to improve the long-term readiness and sustainability of parking facilities.

Mohamed Husain Karmastaji, Chief Executive Officer of Q Mobility, said the agreement reflects a shared objective of developing smarter and more connected mobility services across Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

He said collaboration on technology, digital integration and data-driven solutions could improve convenience for residents and visitors while supporting the UAE's ambitions for smarter and more sustainable cities.

Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Parkin, described the MoU as a strategic development for the UAE's parking sector.

He said bringing together the expertise of the two operators would support the development of an integrated approach to smart parking management and operations.

Al Ali also said parking is increasingly becoming an important component of the wider urban mobility ecosystem, with technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and digital platforms providing opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency and customer services.

The partnership between Q Mobility and Parkin is expected to support further innovation in the UAE's parking sector while strengthening connections between parking services and broader smart-mobility systems in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
