Provis Sustainability Initiatives Reduce 10,000 tons of Co2 Across 12 Managed Communities

Leading real estate management company Provis announced achieving significant energy and utility cost savings worth over AED 3 million in the last six months in 12 communities across its holdings.

The company demonstrated its dedication to the environment through introducing numerous sustainability solutions that resulted in avoiding 10,000 tons of CO2 emissions and nearly 22 million KWH of total energy from chilled water and electricity optimization initiatives, finishing in 66% overall increase in utility increases matched to the same period last year.

HP Aengaar, Provis CEO said, We are committed to the long-term sustainability objectives of the country and will spare no effort to positively contribute to the UAE Vision 2021 and the Abu Dhabi Environment Vision 2030.

Thanks to our teams expertise, we were able to make meaningful savings across several neighbourhoods we manage without compromising quality.

We are aiming to double the energy savings in our communities to exceed AED 7 the million by end of year and by over 15% during the next two years.

We firmly believe that the technology weve chosen as part of our digital transformation journey has helped us optimize our communities and will undoubtedly support our ambitious energy savings goals, added Aengaar.

Other green features implemented in Provis managed communities include the installation of energy-efficient LED lights and the implementation of many water storage techniques using weather-based irrigation systems and the use of Treated Sewage Effluent for irrigation purposes that led to water savings worth AED 300,000.

Closely aligned, the UAE Vision 2021 includes attaining a sustainable environment at its core while the Abu Dhabi Environment Vision 2030 aims to preserve and improve the emirates natural heritage by supporting the effective use of natural resources and contributing to a better quality of life for all.

Provis utilizes a cloud-based real-time Building Management System (BMS) that directly collects data and automatically detect faults and therefore decreases operating costs and reduces energy bills.

The BMS is projected to save 4% to 6% of energy and operating costs annually across Provis managed communities.

Other technologically powered solutions such as data analytics of assets and cooling optimization have already been rolled out, and the company is seeing precise results across its portfolio.

The sustainable measures were worked out in Gate & Arc Towers, Ansam, Sun & Sky Towers, Al Hadeel, Al Muneera, Al Gurm, Al Zeina, Al Bandar, Al Raha Gardens, Golf Gardens, Alghadeer and Al Bateen Park.

More than 2,900 rural homes can be provided with electricity for a whole year with the total savings achieved by Provis.

Proviss commitment to sustainable living and caring for the UAEs beautiful surroundings and natural environment saw its headquarters in Abu Dhabi conferred with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum Certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) in February this year.

It also marked Earth Hour by switching off all non-essential lighting for one hour across 16 residential communities in Abu Dhabi, resulting in more than 5,000 kWh of electricity being saved and 3,000 kg of CO2 equivalent reduced.
