Ford Performance, in collaboration with M-Sport Ltd., has unveiled the new Ford Raptor T1+, a vehicle purpose-built to tackle the grueling Dakar Rally and other challenging off-road terrains. Debuting at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Ford Raptor T1+ showcases the pinnacle of Raptor design and capability.

The Ford Raptor T1+ incorporates learnings from this year’s Dakar Rally to deliver advanced suspension, V8 performance, and a purpose-built design. The truck features an independent double-wishbone suspension system with adjustable Fox bypass dampers, ensuring superior handling and durability in extreme conditions. Its 5.0L Coyote-based V8 engine provides the power and torque necessary for rugged terrains, while the T45 steel spaceframe and carbon fiber body panels offer both functionality and Ford’s signature Raptor aesthetics.

Mark Rushbrook, Global Director of Ford Performance Motorsports, emphasized the significance of this project: “Taking on such a demanding race like Dakar is a daunting task for all of us at Ford Performance, but we have never shirked a challenge. The Ford Raptor T1+ is a stake in the ground for our global off-road vision – we want to take on the best and prove ourselves in the toughest places on earth.”

Renowned rally drivers Carlos Sainz Sr. with navigator Lucas Cruz, and Nani Roma with navigator Alex Haro, will pilot the new truck starting from August. Additional driver teams will be announced later this year.

Matt Wilson, M-Sport Director and Dakar Team Manager, expressed his excitement: “This is the kind of opportunity that comes once in a lifetime. Supporting Ford Performance as they head to Dakar with the new Ford Raptor T1+ is going to be an incredible adventure.”
