Nestl has hired more than 810 young people under 30 years old since January 2020, and offered internships to more than 230 during the period. The declaration, made on International Youth Day 2021, comes at a time when youth unemployment rates in the Middle East and North Africa, already amongst the worlds highest at 29 percent according to the World Economic Forum, are being further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, with 87% of the regions young people expressing concern about employment.

David Moloto, Nestl Human Resources Director in the Middle East and North Africa saidWe are very proud to be progressing in delivering on our commitment to support the career development of youth in the region, by offering various job opportunities that include internships and entry level positions, along with newly designed training and learning paths that help equip young people with opportunities and skills to really succeed in their careers,.

He ended saying We are focused on our promise to create at least 1,000 new jobs for people aged 30 and under by 2025, and are especially excited about the success of our recently launched Nesternships which will help us do that while providing innovative means to select and train talented young people on the increasingly important areas of digitization and environmental sustainability.
