Ministry of Health and Prevention Signs Agreement with Pfizer to Protect UAE Society From Chronic Diseases

The Ministry of Health and Prevention recently authorized a contract with Pfizer-Gulf to raise local community recognition on contagious conditions and highlight the role of preventive measures and vaccinations in building a lasting and healthy environment according to local and global plans and regulations.

In the presence of Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health & prevention, the arrangement was signed at the Ministry's office in Dubai by Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al-Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centers and Clinics, and Dr. Mohammad Fawzi, Chairman of Pfizer Group- Gulf.

The agreement looks for to emphasize the importance of inoculation in getting rid of transmittable illness in society. It also intends to raise community recognition and enhance the performance of healthcare providers according to advanced approaches. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that contagious illness continuously be amongst the leading causes of death worldwide.

H.E. Dr. Al-Rand included that the Ministry's arrangement with Pfizer will increase understanding level and focus on capability building to eliminate infectious conditions and promote vaccination programs. The range of the arrangement also covers physician training as a reliable method to determine and apply preventive measures and decrease risk exposure. This remains in line with the Ministry's technique to build a world-class health system to secure the UAE society from transmittable illness, advertise healthy and balanced way of livings, and reduce associated diseases.

H.E. pointed out that the contract is aligned with the national strategy targeted at combating non-communicable diseases in the next five years (2017-2021). The approach has four main pillars, specifically management and administration; danger element prevention and reduction; monitoring, surveillance, and analysis; and scientific research study and surveillance of illness. This is in line with the objective of UAE Vision 2021 to develop a health market based upon the highest global standards.
