The Ministry of Culture and Youth today held a press conference to announce the most important events during the Reading Month 2022 being held under the theme UAE Reads. The Reading Month embodies the national vision to prepare a generation of readers and establish the UAEs status as a hub of content, culture and knowledge.

The UAE celebrates the Reading Month every year in the month of March, in accordance with the Cabinet's decision. Held under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and Youth, in cooperation with federal and local authorities, the Reading Month is an important step forward in building a knowledge-based society in the UAE.

The press conference was attended by Ministrys strategic partners and stakeholders. His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Culture and Youth reiterated that Reading Month in the UAE is an important annual event that underlines the importance of reading in strengthening the social fabric of the nation. It inculcates the habit of reading with the help consolidate various local and federal initiatives implemented throughout the month across the UAE.

The ministry announced some of the key events and initiatives of the Reading Month 2022 being held this year under the slogan UAE Reads. The Reading Months embodies the national vision to prepare a generation of readers and consolidate the UAEs position as a hub of content, culture and knowledge.

"Dedicating a full month to reading is in continuation of an integrated national programme aimed at strengthening a culture of reading and intensifying initiatives and programmes to support it. It is part of a series of cultural, intellectual and literary projects launched by the UAE since the inception of Reading Month," said His Excellency Mubarak.

His Excellency added: "This year the Ministry of Culture and Youth adopted the slogan UAE Reads for the Reading Month, in line with the UAE governments vision of making reading a way of life in Emirati society. We encourage community participation in events and activities organised by various institutions during the Reading Month in order to expand their scope to broader cross-sections of society.
