Message of MD & CEO of DEWA on World Water Day

On World Water Day, HE Saeed Mohammed AL Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), said that, "Today we commemorate World Water Day, under the theme "Better Water, Better Jobs," to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable advancement. Water resources and services alike enhance the social wellbeing of all humanity, by providing food and energy security, and enhancing the general health of both people and the environment. This supports the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, set by the United Nations (UN).".

"As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and to attain the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to attain sustainable development in the Emirate, supporting the Dubai Plan 2021 to change Dubai into a clean, healthy, and sustainable city with clean environmental components, and in line with our vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility, DEWA is committed to annually commemorate this celebration, renewing our commitment to the reasonable usage of natural deposits and contributing to discovering sustainable solutions to limit use, and attain sustainable advancement financially, socially, and environmentally.".

"Due to our strong belief in protecting natural deposits, DEWA introduced an awareness campaign under the style 'Every Drop Matters.' The campaign will utilize the very best practices to limit water use, and lower the amount of water being lost, to guarantee sustainability for generations to come.".

All year round, DEWA launches awareness programs and innovative initiatives to encourage society to embrace a positive approach as part of their daily lives to decrease electricity and water use. Through this, 5.6 billion royal gallons of water has been saved between 2009 and 2015," concluded Al Tayer.
