A-Level examination results, GEMS Education students excel with excellence

GEMS Education students in the UAE celebrated this morning outstanding results achieved during the A-Level examinations.
This year, GEMS students in the UAE have once again exceeded expectations. Almost 600 students sat over 1700 A Level examinations.

Over all GEMS school, 33% of entries achieved an A* or A grade. A particular specific feature was Jumeirah College who again celebrate exceptional results, in over 420 assessments 16 per cent achieved an A* grade and 47 per cent achieved an A* or A grade. Of the 140 students sitting A Levels in the school, 30 achieved all A* or A grades.
These amazing results break records again at Jumeirah College. In over 420 examinations 16% were at A* and 47% were at A* or A grade. There were 140 students in the cohort and 30 of these gained all A* or A grades. 83 (59%) students gained all A*-B grades.

Simon OConnor, Principal of Jumeirah College, stated: 'Essential to our school is the understanding that all students have the potential to achieve the highest grades and, yet again, these results demonstrate this to be the case. The students have done wonderfully far exceeding expectations that would be placed on them elsewhere. This reflects years of hard work from both the students and their teachers, who work tirelessly to support each individual. I am so grateful for all that the staffs at the school do, and I know the students are too.

Kazal Oshodi A Level student from GEMS Jumeirah College, is a high achiever and his score for Maths is in the top 50 in the world. He got four A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and will attend Cambridge University to study Engineering. He said: It took a lot of hard work and lots of revision, even over the past year which really picked up in May and June when the actual exams came along. I will miss my friends at Jumeirah College and also having fun in lessons while learning, as by having fun is one of the best ways to learn.

GEMS presently offer A Levels at 13 schools in the UAE.
