Honor launches Magic8 Pro, marking a new era of night photography with AI and 5.5G performance

HONOR has officially launched the HONOR Magic8 Pro across the GCC, unveiling the region’s first 5.5G-ready smartphone and introducing advanced AI-powered imaging capabilities designed to set new standards for mobile photography, performance and user productivity. The regional launch event, held in Dubai and attended by industry partners, media, creators and photographers, also marked the debut of HONOR’s “Chase Your Light” competition, aimed at inspiring creative expression across the Middle East.

Debo Zhang, General Manager of HONOR GCC, opened the ceremony by highlighting the brand’s strong growth across the region and its focus on delivering purposeful innovation. “The GCC region continues to demonstrate strong demand for advanced imaging capabilities and intelligent mobile technology,” he said. “With the HONOR Magic8 Pro, we are delivering a flagship experience that empowers creators and enhances everyday visual storytelling.”

During the keynote, HONOR showcased the Magic8 Pro’s key features, including its next-generation 200MP AI Ultra Night Telephoto camera engineered for exceptional clarity in long-distance and low-light scenarios. The device also introduces an upgraded AI Ultra Night Portrait mode, AI Magic Color and a new AI Editor, enabling enhanced image optimization and intuitive on-device creative tools.

The HONOR Magic8 Pro is the first smartphone in the UAE powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, offering improved processing efficiency, better thermal performance and faster responsiveness. Additional highlights include a 7100mAh HONOR silicon-carbon battery, an AI Button, AI Search and AI Documents—features developed to support AI-driven productivity and seamless user workflows.

A major milestone announced during the event is the device’s status as the UAE’s first 5.5G-ready smartphone, reinforcing the nation’s leadership in digital transformation and next-generation connectivity. This advancement aligns with national objectives to accelerate AI integration and strengthen digital infrastructure.

Photographer and videographer Riadh Maghni shared insights into the Magic8 Pro’s real-world performance, particularly in low-light settings. “The HONOR Magic8 Pro delivers outstanding clarity and detail in low-light environments, enabling more people to tell authentic stories from their own perspectives,” he noted. “Its AI imaging tools provide a professional-level experience directly from the smartphone.”

Attendees also explored a dedicated Experience Zone showcasing the device in simulated low-light scenarios, emphasizing its imaging power and creator-focused features.

Pre-orders for the HONOR Magic8 Pro begin on December 11, 2025, across the UAE. The device is available in two configurations:

12GB + 512GB in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan and Black — AED 3,999
16GB + 1TB in Sunrise Gold and Black — AED 4,699
