HIMSS Analytics Honors Two UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention Hospitals with Stage 6 Recognition

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) revealed that Al Dhaid Hospital and Al Baraha Hospital have achieved Stage 6 of the Electronic Medical Record Adoption ModelSM (EMRAM) from Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Analytics Analytics. The HIMSS Analytics EMRAM Stage 6 award existed to the hospitals during the EMRAM Honors Ceremony that was held at the yearly HIMSS UAE eHealth Week in Dubai.

" We are honored to receive the prestigious award, which notes our tactical dedication to give clinicians with the devices to deliver excellent quality care for our patients," said Mubaraka M. Ibrahim, health info director, UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention. "This achievement is in alignment with the UAE's Vision 2021 and its pursuit of creating first-rate health care experience for our people."

Cerner, a global leader in healthcare technology, worked with Al Dhaid Hospital and Al Baraha Health center to help boost individuals' health and safety by integrating its health care innovation with the hospitals' clinical effectiveness.

MOHAP transitioned to an electronic health record (EHR) system, called Wareed, in 2008 to pursue a One Patient, One Record initiative by deploying Cerner Millennium as the core platform.

Among the solutions uses barcode technology, checking a patient's wristband and medication with a handheld device to confirm info with the client's EHR hosted by Cerner Millennium. This validation intends to support people' health without compromising their exclusive details.

" Thanks to the closed-loop medicine procedure, drug is provided at the person's bedside, verifying the '5 civil liberties' are determined on one solitary display-- ideal client, appropriate medication, best dose, correct time and appropriate path," added Dr. Mubaraka M. Ibrahim, health information director, UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention.

Other programs and technology frameworks were established at both facilities to sustain a lasting clinical transformation, certifying the medical facilities for the Phase six certification recognition. Programs and infrastructures consisted of assisted in bedside documents, in addition to installed suitable imaging machines to produce a 100 percent filmless environment.

On top of that, six large monitors in the operating movie theater areas were attached to enable seamless radiology photo reading during the surgical procedures without the need to publish movie. New compatible document scanners were set up to support document scanning and accomplish near paperless environment.

HIMSS Analytics developed the EMRAM in 2005 as a methodology for evaluating the progress and influence of EHR systems for hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics database. Tracking their progress in completing 8 stages (0-7), hospitals can assess the execution and usage of information technology applications culminating with Stage 7, which represents an advanced electronic patient record atmosphere.

" Being at the forefront innovation is a top priority for MOHAP. We are honored to be collaborating with visionary leaders straightened with the UAE's 2021 Vision," stated Bachir Awad, senior director and basic manager, Cerner Middle East and Africa. "The prominent HIMSS award is a beginning of one more excellent journey that we eagerly anticipate start with MOHAP."
