The meeting covered updates surrounding the development and final preparation of the Expo 2020 Dubai Registration Dossier, which will be presented to the governing body of World Expos, the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE), this year, as well as a progress report on the Expo’s site and marketing and communications strategies.
The meeting was held in the presence of vice-chairman, His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Ruler’s Court, and other Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee members.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee member, also presented an update on the plans around RTA development work relating to the Expo 2020 Dubai site and across the city.
Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State, Board Representative of the Dubai Expo 2020 Higher Committee and Director General, Bureau Dubai Expo 2020, said: “There has been substantive progress on many fronts this year, both in the UAE and across the world. We also plan to continue to build strong momentum throughout 2015 with a number of robust awareness engagements and collaborative initiatives that will collectively ensure we deliver an event worthy of the history of World Expos and that does justice to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the UAE.”
Earlier this month, Expo 2020 Dubai launched a UAE-wide multi-experience community engagement campaign for Expo 2020 Dubai under the banner of ‘For Everyone’.
The ‘For Everyone’ campaign, an awareness building and engaging series of public activities, will support the UAE and Expo 2020’s participation in Italy’s World Expo - Expo Milano 2015 – taking place May 1st to the end of October. The UAE will have a country pavilion within Expo 2015, focussing on the UAE’s efforts to address food and hunger issues and dually promoting Expo 2020 Dubai’s theme and subthemes.
