HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received a top-level delegation from the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The delegation was led by Fritz Horst Melsheimer, President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and Dr. Hans-Jorg Schmidt-Trenz, CEO of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The delegation visited to take part in the 5th Dubai Hamburg Business Forum. The delegation likewise visited DEWA to find out more about its successful experiences, abilities, global practices, and smart initiatives, launched to achieve the Smart Dubai initiative by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into the smartest, happiest, and most innovative city in the world by 2017.

Al Tayer invited the delegation, highlighting DEWA's commitment towards benchmarking, and exchanging information, skills, and the practises of pioneering government organisations from around the world.

"DEWA has just recently launched three tactical efforts consisting of Shams Dubai, to link solar energy to buildings, the smart Applications effort through smart meters and Green Chargers, and establishing the infrastructure to construct electric vehicle charging stations. To ensure that the Shams Dubai effort is a success, DEWA is working with its partner organisations to install photovoltaic panels. The effort is part of a wider environmental method, which falls in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.

In light of the Smart Applications effort through smart meters, DEWA has actually established a comprehensive strategy to set up meters within electricity and water networks throughout the Emirate.
