GE (NYSE: GE) today revealed the visit of Joseph J. Anis as President and Chief Executive Officer for its Power Services business for the Middle East and Africa (MEA). His consultation follows the move of Azeez Mohammed, who handles a new role as CEO for GE Energy Connection's Power Conversion unit based in Paris.

Power Services incorporates the best service groups in the power market-- GE's Power Generation Services and Alstom's Thermal Services-- and has a main role in the MEA region in assisting consumers expand their power plant capability and maximise resource use performance.

Anis will be responsible for growing the business with a focus on leveraging GE's Industrial Internet solutions that accelerate the application of digital industrial technology for MEA's power sector to accomplish unmatched levels of efficiency. He will likewise play an essential role in reinforcing business collaborations, local capacity structure and promoting innovation in the power services sector.

GEs Power Services business has approximately 26,000 people in more than 150 countries and offers customers total plant capabilities, expanded local resources and expertise, and stronger collaboration opportunities to help them be more successful.

Anis joined GE in 1997 as General Manager for GEs Power Controls business and has served in various leadership roles both in the region and globally including as General Manager for Power Generation Sales in the Middle East and Africa. In 2007, Joe was appointed the Region Executive and General Manager for GE Energy in the Middle East, where his responsibilities included driving results for GE Oil & Gas, Energy Management and Power & Water. In July 2010, Anis was appointed as a Vice President and Officer of GE.

He joined GEs Power Generation Services business in 2012 as the VP of Global Sales & Commercial Operations. In 2015, Joe was named VP Commercial for Power Services where he was responsible for delivering sales growth across its portfolio of product lines and commercial offerings, as well as driving sales penetration with customers. He holds a bachelors degree in political science from Syracuse University in New York in the USA.
