What are employees’ rights in the UAE if they are terminated during their probation period?

Under Article 9(1) of the UAE Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021, an employer can terminate an employee during the probation period — which can last up to six months — by giving a 14-day written notice. The law does not require employers to provide a reason for termination during probation, and employees generally cannot claim arbitrary dismissal during this period.
