At the United Nations World Fair in Dubai next year, we will have an exclusive pavilion titled ‘We the Peoples: Shaping Our Future Together’.
Following the announcement of the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, the commemoration of 2020 will feature a series of youth-driven conversations on the role of global cooperation in creating the future that the world desires and deserves- and as part of its 75th anniversary celebration - United Nations Participation in the Expo provides the opportunity to reach millions of visitors, both personally and in the virtual space, to promote their involvement in Agenda 2030 and 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
The theme of the pavilion was announced by United Nations Commissioner General Maher Nasser at the Expo 2020 Dubai. It combines the opening words of the United Nations Charter adopted in 1945 ‘We the Peoples’, with the 75th anniversary theme of ‘Shaping Our Future Together’.
The United Nations has received excellent support from the United Arab Emirates and Expo 2020 to participate in the Expo 2020, in which the exclusive pavilion is prepared as part of ‘one nation, one pavilion’ policy.
The pavilion will be organized around a central, predictable venue for events, presentations, discussions and meetings, and will be surrounded by exhibitions, including not only the stories and achievements of the United Nations, but also its agencies, finances and projects. people who benefit from the work of the United Nations. It is designed to inspire many new advocates to work closely with the United Nations, which shines and shines an open and accessible light on the United Nations, listening to the voices of all and especially young people.
As visitors leave the pavilion, they will feel that the United Nations is an influential force in the world and that we are all welcome to participate. The instigation of this experience is that the defense of the rights of all people and indeed the rights of the planet is at the heart of the organization's work and that we all have a role to play. This will be the place where everyone recognizes their own potential as part of ‘We the Peoples’, and in any capacity to bring that ability back to their own communities to join the global struggle for a just and sustainable world.
The theme of Expo 2020 Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ is closely aligned with the United Nations idea - to unite to create a secure, peaceful, fair and sustainable future.
Since 1851, World Expo has played a unique role in articulating new ideas and technologies, engaging people, and supporting global priorities within national boundaries.
