Etihad Credit Insurance Wins ‘Deal of the Year’ at TXF Global 2025 in Copenhagen
Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI), the UAE's federal export credit company, was honored with the prestigious “TXF Commodity Trader Export Finance Deal of the Year 2024” award during its participation as a strategic sponsor at TXF Global 2025, held from June 10 to 12 in Copenhagen. The conference is regarded as one of the world’s leading events for international trade and project finance, bringing together more than 1,500 global participants, including export credit agencies, financiers, and industry leaders.
ECI’s recognition at the event reflects its critical role in advancing the UAE’s economic diversification strategy and global trade presence, particularly in support of the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision. The national agenda aims to double the value of UAE exports and expand their footprint in global markets through innovative financial instruments and strong international partnerships.
The award-winning deal spotlighted ECI’s successful collaboration with Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), and Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking (Natixis CIB) to support the export of non-oil UAE-originated commodities by Trafigura, a global leader in the commodities trading sector. The financing solution facilitated Trafigura’s international procurement of UAE products, strengthening their presence in global supply chains and reinforcing the competitiveness of Emirati exports.
Strengthening Global Alliances
H.E. Raja Al Mazrouei, CEO of Etihad Credit Insurance, commented:
“Our participation in TXF Global 2025, a premier global trade finance platform, underlines ECI’s commitment to advancing strategic international partnerships and staying aligned with evolving trade dynamics. Winning the ‘Deal of the Year’ award reinforces ECI’s pivotal role in enabling non-oil exports through innovative, high-impact financing structures.”
She added:
“This achievement marks a key milestone in our collaborative efforts with ADEX, FAB, and Natixis. It is a clear testament to the UAE’s growing leadership in trade finance and our mission to empower Emirati companies to scale confidently across global markets.”
Driving Export Excellence
The TXF Global 2025 conference featured in-depth sessions on the future of trade finance, sustainability-linked export financing, and the role of credit agencies in an increasingly dynamic global economy. As part of its participation, ECI held bilateral meetings with top international stakeholders, including financial institutions, development banks, and export finance agencies, to explore potential synergies and new areas of cooperation.
Through this award and continued global engagement, ECI reaffirms its leadership in building financial ecosystems that unlock the UAE’s non-oil export potential, strengthen investor confidence, and support long-term economic growth.
