ENOC joins hands with UK-based Energy Institute to organise training for energy professionals in Dubai

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has joined hands with the UK-based Energy Institute, the leading chartered professional membership body for the energy industry, to organise specialised training programmes on energy and resource conservation for ENOC managers and technicians.

The two courses, accredited by the Institute of Engineers in the UK, were conducted by the Energy Institute at ENOCs headquarters in Dubai, and attended by nearly 60 technicians and engineers including senior managers from ENOC. Saif Al Falasi, Executive Director - EHSQ & Corporate Affairs of ENOC, and Ian Marchant FEI, President of the Energy Institute, presented the certificates to the participants.

At the award ceremony, Al Falasi was honoured by the Energy Institute with its Eminent Fellowship for his contribution to promoting a culture of safety across the organisation and building the teams capability in energy management. Marchant presented the award along with lifetime membership to the Institute.

Al Falasi said: The introduction of the specialised training programmes in partnership with the Energy Institute is aimed at building the capabilities of not only ENOC employees but also UAEs energy sector professionals. As the industry witnesses remarkable changes led by the introduction of new technologies, it is important that our professionals are up-to-date with the latest trends. The training is also part of our Corporate Social Responsibility to further strengthen the skillsets of our employees.

Marchant added: The Energy Institute offers cutting-edge industry-specific training programmes that contribute to increased work efficiency. We are thankful to ENOC for their support, which highlights the organisations commitment to promote industry best practices.

Waddah Ghanem, Group EHSQ Compliance Director of ENOC, said: One of the focal areas of the training programmes is to promote a culture of safety in the workplace. The complex nature of work involved in the energy sector requires our professionals to be fully aligned to health, safety, environmental and energy best practices. The Energy Institutes training sessions will add significant value to the professionals in their careers.

Open to ENOC Group and specific energy sector companies, the first training sessions were also attended by engineers of Dubai Aluminium Company. The participants of the two courses had to undertake written exams and conduct an Energy Audit in their respective business unit.

ENOC regularly provides training courses for its employees as part of its professional development programme.
