EHRDC signs strategic MoU with du to empower Emirati talent in telecom and technology

The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) in Dubai has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with du, the UAE’s leading telecommunications and digital services provider, to strengthen the participation of Emirati talent in future-focused technology and telecommunications sectors.

The agreement supports the UAE Government’s Emiratisation agenda by nurturing a new generation of highly skilled nationals capable of leading digital transformation across multiple industries. Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate on specialised training programmes and strategic employment opportunities aligned with the needs of a rapidly evolving digital economy.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Abdulla Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and Deputy Chairman of EHRDC, and Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Executive Officer of du, in the presence of senior officials and industry experts from both organisations.

H.E. Abdulla Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi said the partnership places Emirati talent at the centre of Dubai’s digital transformation journey. He emphasised that empowering young Emiratis with advanced skills is essential to strengthening their contribution to the national economy.

“The telecommunications and ICT sector is a key pillar of the new economy,” he said. “Through this MoU, we aim to equip Emirati men and women with the expertise needed to enhance their capabilities, expand their career prospects, and contribute effectively to national development, in line with Emiratisation goals and UAE priorities.”

Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, highlighted the company’s commitment to investing in human capital as a foundation for sustainable digital growth. He noted that the partnership with EHRDC will help develop advanced digital skills among Emirati professionals and create clear career pathways within the telecom and ICT industries.

“This agreement establishes a practical framework for long-term institutional collaboration that links specialised training with real market needs,” Al Hassawi said. “It ensures Emirati talent is prepared to assume critical roles in driving innovation and strengthening Dubai’s competitiveness at both regional and global levels.”

The MoU also focuses on knowledge-sharing and closer institutional cooperation to better align education and training outcomes with labour market demands. This approach aims to ensure the sustained involvement of Emirati professionals in shaping the UAE’s digital future and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a regional hub for innovation and technology.

The partnership underscores EHRDC’s role in implementing policies that enhance national human capital and create attractive, sustainable career opportunities for Emiratis within the private sector.
