Ducab, the UAE-based leading manufacturer of high-quality cables and cabling products, was awarded for its successful participation in the Think Science Competition Exhibition, held earlier this month under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of Emirates Foundation.

The Award was presented during a ceremony held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of Emirates Foundation. Andrew Shaw, Managing Director, Ducab, received the Award on behalf of the company. Several other leading institutions who participated in the event were also recognised, along with a number of students who won prizes during the competition.

Mona Mohamed Fekri, Ducab General Manager, Human Resources, said: We are proud to have participated in this years edition of the Think Science Competition Exhibition, and to have received this honoured recognition for taking part. This initiative is both innovative and unique, and is an important platform for us to connect the highly talented younger generation of Emiratis. It provided us with the opportunity to demonstrate Ducabs position as an active member in the UAEs industrial sector, and to share the employment opportunities we are able to offer Emirati youth. This in turn allows us to strongly support the national economy, which is a pivotal role to play in shaping our society and its technological development.

During the exhibition, Ducab invited students to explore the exciting career opportunities within the UAEs innovation-driven industry sector, while seeing how Ducabs experts deploy their skills and acumen to achieve world-class results and to generate industrial solutions to answer real-world problems.

To drive Emiratisation efforts, Ducab is committed to participating in prestigious events, such as career fairs, that allow the company to communicate directly with young Emirati talent. The company has worked hand in hand with several local institutions and specialised agencies, including the Ministry of Higher Education, to ensure it provides the best career options to UAE nationals, in support of the UAEs vision and in line with Ducabs position as a partner of the Absher Initiative. To date, Ducabs workforce comprises 20% Emiratis, with 38% of senior management roles held by UAE nationals.
