Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to fully reopen Emirates Road on August 25, marking the completion of a large-scale rehabilitation project just in time for the start of the new school year.
The 14-km stretch, a vital artery connecting Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, has undergone extensive resurfacing over the past three months to improve driving comfort, boost safety and ease traffic congestion.
The project was executed in carefully planned phases, using advanced technologies such as laser detection vehicles to identify and repair structural issues. Multiple layers of asphalt were applied in high-traffic zones to extend the road’s durability and provide a long-lasting, smooth driving experience.
“This upgrade is a big relief,” said Ahmed, a daily commuter from Sharjah to Dubai. “I’m looking forward to a smooth ride without the constant jams.”
With the final phase wrapping up, motorists can expect a safer, more efficient commute across one of the UAE’s busiest highways.
