Dubai Taxi honors 153 distinguished cabbies

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has honored 153 distinguished cabbies under the Driver Performance Assessment System for the 3rd quarter of in 2014. To this result an event has just recently been held at Al Ittihad Rest House at DTC premises, to acknowledge excellent-performing cabbies and motivate them to maintain.

The acknowledgment event was attended by Dr. Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation, in the existence of Directors, managers, specialists and scores of DTC's workers.

Talking throughout the event, Dr. Yousef Al Ali, said, "The DTC connects significant attention to identified motorists and assigns a yearly budget of about AED 2 million as benefits for them under a system that picks motorists on the basis of outstanding results achieved in delivering services to customers. The DTC likes rewarding cabdrivers on quarterly basis AED 500,000 in an effort to update their service levels by adopting a reliable motorists' assessment system based on day-to-day performance outcomes, and the rate of mishaps & offences. Accordingly, best-performing motorists will be rewarded, and poor-performing motorists will be trained.".

"153 cabbies were rewarded for the 3rd quarter of in 2014, out of overall variety of cabbies at the DTC which goes beyond 11,000. The breakdown of honored drivers was as follows: 4 drivers in Category 1 were approved cash rewards of 10,000 dirhams each, 49 motorists in Category 2 were given 5,000 dirhams each, and 95 drivers in Category 3 were approved 2,000 dirhams each. In the very best Category of the Best Improved Performance, 5 drivers were rewarded with a money quantity of 2,000 dirhams each," elaborated Al Ali.

"We are continually following up the efficiency of cabdrivers and value the distinguished efforts they put which add to bringing services to the public and clients at par with the highest global standards. In assessing motorists' performance we base our evaluation on a host of specifications that consist of honesty, customer complaints, day-to-day income per kilometer, accidents, and traffic fines.".

"The DTC remains to supply services and facilities to the greatest requirements of quality and excellence through a fleet of 4560 taxicabs comprising Airport Taxi, Hatta Taxi, Ladies & Families Taxi, Special Needs' Taxi, and the Standard Taxi. The DTC hires more than 11,000 drivers of various citizenships, plying the length and breadth of Dubai ongoing on shifts basis. In addition, the DTC provides unique services which include Safe Hands service, in addition to the VIP Taxi service through 113 taxicabs, as well as the Mashaweer service," continued Al Ali.

Honorees revealed genuine thanks and appreciation of this award run by the DTC, and restated their commitment to do more in performing their responsibilities. The awards, they say, provide them terrific incentives and prompt them to offer much better services to the public in keeping with the achievements of the RTA and the DTC in keeping with the local profile of Dubai, and the improvement seen by the Emirate throughout economic, trading, real estate, tourist and service sectors among others. DTC's cabbies are well-aware of that they are considered as ambassadors of the RTA and front-end staff in view of their direct and daily interaction with the general public from various community sections.".
