Dubai Municipality has signed a strategic MOU with Hawaii at the GITEX Technology Week 2019
Partnership to develop sophisticated technology to increase customer happiness

Dubai Municipality has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hawaii, the leading global provider of information and communication technology (ICT). The Memorandum of Understanding will launch a collaborative approach to achieve the goals of the Smart Dubai Initiative, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Through the partnership, the Dubai Municipality and Hawaii will work to achieve the strategic objectives of both parties. Huawei will contribute to the development of the digital capabilities of the Dubai Municipality, providing the support necessary to launch unique smart services, incorporating the latest innovative technologies in the ICT industry.

In return, the two will collaborate to establish a framework for launching future smart initiatives, creating innovative solutions to implement the latest technological advancements. A joint pilot project will be launched which will contribute to the development of breakthrough projects.

In addition, the Dubai Municipality and Hawaii will work together to create the Future Center, providing world-class services to its citizens to enjoy the future, in line with the UAE's commitment to become one of the worlds leading countries. The Smart Center will be powered by Huawei’s WiFi 6 technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, which will enable the Dubai Municipality to offer Dubai residents an optimal level of automation experience.

Hawaii will provide Dubai Municipality with sophisticated solutions for business continuity and disaster recovery using integrated intelligence and next-generation WiFi 6 solutions.

His Majesty, Eng.
